Walberg,
Tucker & Holmes seeks continuously to evaluate and employ new
technologies as they become reliable and cost efficient, in order
to maintain a competitive edge in the legal marketplace.
Advanced communications
technology provides a variety of means to facilitate or enhance
the transmission of information. Each staff member, through the
P.C. at his or her desk, has direct, high-speed, Internet access,
can transmit internal and external e-mail with ease, and can send
facsimile transmissions directly from the P.C. This allows us to
offer our clients and contacts a variety of options to best suit
their own needs and convenience with the most efficiency.
Software programs
and vendor services employed to enhance legal research, word processing,
presentations and data base capabilities also enable our staff to
take advantage of many potential means of preparing and analyzing
legal and factual issues inherent in our cases. Again, these technologies,
in most instances, are available to every employee through the P.C.
on his or her desk, and include access to legal and non-legal research
sources both on CD ROM and through on-line resources such as Lexis-Nexis,
West and Martindale-Hubbell. Each attorney also has the capacity
to access many of these resources from a remote site.
The firm has
recently added on-site document scanning capability which allows
copying of color photographs for production in discovery or for
e-mail transmission to clients; optical character recognition software
allows scanned documents to be edited or integrated into existing
word processing applications if desired; image scanning allows transmission
of copies of original documents to be electronically transmitted
as exhibits to an electronic filing or to others through an electronic
medium.
Walberg, Tucker
& Holmes has also been actively involved in the use of Colorado's
new on-line electronic filing program in the State District Courts
through Lexis-Nexis CourtLink, ranking in the top ten firms in the
State for electronic filing in the first ten months of the system's
operation.
From an administrative
perspective, Walberg, Tucker & Holmes's time and billing software
allows tremendous flexibility in providing billing statements which
meet each client's needs and expectations. An integrated calendaring
software allows automatic diarying of the multitude of deadlines
and reminders associated with a flourishing litigation practice.
As a whole,
our commitment to high performance information technology allows
us to provide a multitude of services and capabilities for staff
and clients, both in the office and away from the office, while
also maintaining responsible security.
If you have
questions concerning the information technology described above
or concerning our firm's administrative operations, please do not
hesitate to call our office manager.
